my parents flew from los angeles to visit for the memorial day holiday. they are avid hikers, so we decided to try a 14er. after some research, we decided to attempt a peak ascent of mt lincoln, near fairplay.unfortunately, we were driven back by snow. post-holing up a mountain is not my mother's idea of fun. we returned to denver, where they did lots of shopping at one of the small, local outdoors stores called REI.
